Women’s Brazilian doubles bobsled team crashes hard

On Feb. 16, Brazil’s Olympic women’s bobsled doubles team of Fabiana Santos and Sally da Silva seemed to be on another smooth training run, until a high turn on one of the sharp bends.

One of the sled’s skates left the ice, and before they could do anything to correct the error, the sled came down on its side, sliding the rest of the way to the finish.

During the slide, both of the women’s heads were dragged along the left ice wall of the track, but, apparently, most of the damage was done to the sled, and the riders themselves sustained little injury. The two were able to walk away from the crash.

Surprisingly, the two will be ready to compete later today. The entire video can be seen here (Caution: The video contains graphic images).
