The cross-country team’s Bay Counties League – West season ended Nov. 2 as the boys and girls ran to fourth and fifth place finishes, respectively.

Although the teams failed to bring banners back to Urban, Cassidy Elkins (’15), co-captain of the girls’ varsity team, didn’t seem too disappointed.

“The girls ran a tremendous race. We went into it a little hesitant with sophomore Molly (Carleton) and her injury, but we stepped up and came out with everyone running one of their strongest races.”

Elkins also praised the fans, describing the crowd as “awesome.”

The teams will have another opportunity to hang new banners in the St. Agnes gym on Nov. 17, when they race in the North Coast Section championship meet at Hayward High School.

Elkins expressed confidence that the cross-country team will perform well, advising fans to “keep an eye out.”
